We've seen that the chain sprockets on these pumps will show excessive wear over time, even if the pump itself is working normally. We recommend replacing the sprocket if it shows any signs of wear.
All of our rebuilt S85 oil pumps come with a new chain sprocket, so there is no need to purchase this part separately if you are buying one of our updated vanos oil pumps.
