Euro spec E36/Z3 Vanos

DrVanos offers their rebuild service for the 1993 - 1999 Euro E36 M3 - 3.0l (S50b30) and M3/MZ3 3.2l (S50b32) vanos units.The Euro M3 Vanos is well known for having problems with the failing piston seals, hardened solenoid O-rings and the annoying 'Diesel Rattle', all causing various problems such as poor performance, hesitation, and rough idle. There are no less than 19 seals and O-rings within the Euro 3.2l vanos which are all made from a material not well suited to the heat of the engine. We have addressed these shortcomings by replacing ALL of these seals and O-rings with high quality, custom made Viton or Teflon parts. Our updated seals and O-rings will easily last the life of the engine.

While you may find some imitators selling a few small parts that are commonly available through the dealer, DrVanos is the only company offering custom designed high quality seals and O-rings to address ALL vanos related problems. Our professionally rebuilt units are complete with specially designed intake and exhaust piston rod seals to replace the factory seals. Our rebuild service also includes modified gears to cure the infamous 'Diesel Rattle', something generic kits cannot offer. Without all of our unique upgrades your vanos repair is incomplete, so don't be fooled by 'off-the-shelf' rebuild kits consisting of a few factory bolts and gaskets.
  • The common 'diesel rattle' that is heard on the Euro 3.2 and 3.0 vanos units can be attributed to the splined gears that fit at the back of the vanos. Each splined gear has a bearing assembly inside which allows it to spin freely with the camshaft. These bearing assemblies are designed with a very loose tolerance from the manufacturer causing them to rattle or resonate at certain RPM's. At DrVanos we modify these bearings to bring the tolerances much closer together for a tighter fit, eliminating the dreaded vanos rattle for good.
