Our Differential Fluid Cooler is effective insurance that will help preserve the high-performance clutch discs in your limited-slip differential, increasing the longevity and maintaining performance under pressure.
During a track session, differential fluid temperatures over 280°F are not uncommon. A limited-slip diff that starts at 40% locking will wear much more quickly under these conditions. This kit is the most effective way to lower differential temperatures to extend the life of your limited-slip clutches and general wear parts. This can be combined with a finned diff cover on an E36 or E30 to lower temperatures even further. However, this kit is efficient enough to work with non-finned covers, which is our preference for a car that will be driven aggressively over curbs.
Our kit includes heavy-duty fluid pump with Buna rubber seals, Setrab heat exchanger with an efficient, integrated puller fan and shroud, and all -6 stainless line, hose ends, bulkhead fittings, and adaptors for a clean installation in your spare tire well. This system increases oil capacity by just under one quart.
Assembly Note: because not all race cars are the same, the hoses do not come pre-assembled. The included fittings should allow for flexibility in fitment. As with many race car applications, some mounting fabrication and creativity may be necessary, depending on your setup.
Fitment Note: Many newer models from 2006+, except M models, only have a fill plug and do not have a drain plug in the differential. In these cases, a M22x1.5 bung must be welded in place. If you are buying one of our performance differentials, contact us about having this done for you.
